Rebecca Bromwell
Professional Musician, Composer & Private Music Instruction
Hello and welcome to my site! My name is Rebecca Bromwell, and I am a professional musician, teacher, composer, and arranger. I am a graduate of the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM - Cincinnati, OH). I was a triple major at CCM in voice performance, trumpet performance, and music education (instrumental track). I have won many awards and scholarships for my vocal and trumpet talents. At the age of 18, I toured Europe with the Blue Lake International Youth Symphony Orchestra as a soprano soloist and co-principal trumpet. I have performed in many operas, recitals, and concerts. I also sang the world premiere of “À L’ouest de la Lune” by Harold Blumenfeld under the direction of Gerhard Samuel. I continue to be in demand as a soloist as well as a music lessons teacher and am a published composer/arranger.
Although I do enjoy performing professionally, I also truly love to teach. I have been teaching lessons for over 15 years including voice, piano, trumpet, flute, clarinet, saxophone, and Celtic harp.
I have been blessed with wonderful private lessons teachers over the years. Those include Virginia Erner (she was my elementary school teacher and started me on several wind instruments and conducting; I credit her to why I am a musician today), Ralph Shell (trumpet), Tim McVay (trumpet), Alan Siebert (trumpet), Robert Bluhm (flute, clarinet, and saxophone), Kirsten Osbun Manley (voice), Lorna March (voice), Andreas Poulimenos (voice), Patricia Berlin (voice), Marlene Rayl (piano), Allsbrook Smith (piano), and Nancy Bick Clark (Celtic harp).
I sing/play professionally and teach, but I also work full time as a church music director, so music is definitely how I make my living. One of the interesting quirks people find fascinating about me is that I play 29 musical instruments. This includes voice, various trumpets (Bb, C trumpets, piccolo trumpet, and cornet), various flutes (including alto flute) and piccolo, various saxophones (soprano, alto, and tenor saxes), clarinet, piano, Celtic and pedal harp, Irish tin whistle, guitar, organ, french horn, Native American flutes (all of the above I perform professionally), various recorders (soprano, alto, tenor, and bass), bass guitar, hand bells and chimes, euphonium, and the violin.
